Grandmaster Review

Superstar Mohanlal's new Malayalam movie 'Grandmaster' got released today. This new movie, scripted as well as directed by B Unnikrishnan was produced by Ronnie Screwvala under the banner of UTV Motion Pictures. Thus far, 'Grandmaster' is getting a big thumbs up from the first day viewers all across the state.

This new film 'Grandmaster' is UTV's first ever production venture in Malayalam and it featured south Indian beauty Priyamani, playing the female lead, as Mohanlal's heroine for the very first time in her career. Apart from Mohanlal and Priyamani, this film also features Anoop Menon, Narain, Roma, Babu Antony, Mitra Kurian, Siddique, Jagathy Sreekumar etc in its cast.

In 'Grandmaster', a racy crime thriller, Mohanlal plays the role of I.G Chandrasekhar, chief of MCD. He, who is also a divorcee, lives alone in a dark and violent city. Even when unlawful incidents take place around him, he withdraws himself from all responsibilities and is happy to live quietly.

In this new movie 'Grandmaster', Priyamani plays the role of Deepthi, Mohanlal's ex-wife, who is also a lawyer. They both have a daughter, named as Daakshayani. Chandrasekhar is well bonded with his daughter and wishes to spend almost all his time with her.

Once, a letter arrives in his office and suddenly he is jolted into action. The writer of the letter is a self-confessed admirer of Chandrasekhar and wishes to rekindle the fire in him and invites him to a game of hide and seek. Rest of the film tells us why the writer is forcing Chandrasekhar to take up this case and how he goes after the writer and get him caught.

Once again, Mohanlal was splendid to watch in his new avatar of a cool, smooth-talking as well as sophisticated police cop. Priyamani looked good in her role of a matured lawyer. Even though, they have a very brief role to perform, actors like Narain, Anoop Menon, Jagathy Sreekumar were nice to watch. Among all, the most shocking performance was from Babu Antony, arguably the most powerful character offered to him so far. Others in the cast like Roma, Mitra Kurian, Riyaz Khan etc have also done their part well.

'Grandmaster' brought back the hit combo of director B Unnikrishnan and actor Mohanlal, after the megahit 'Maadambi' and this new movie can be termed as B Unnikrishnan's best ever work so far. Script as well as direction by B Unnikrishnan was very good and the major thing that worked in favour of this movie is the suspense element and justification of killing.

Music as well as BGM were terrific and suited well with the mood of this film. Cinematography by Vinod Ellampally, Art direction by Joseph Nellickal, Editing by Manoj, Costume by Satheesh have all been noteworthy.

All in all, this new Malayalam movie 'Grandmaster' is a well made thriller film that will have you at the edge of your seat from the very beginning itself.

Malayalam movie Pranayam Review, Initial Reports

Pranayam, directed by one of the most sought after director in Malayalam film industry Blessy got released yesterday and very good reports are coming out from the first day viewers suggesting that this new Malayalam film is sure to make a name for itself in the history of Malayalam cinema.

Pranayam features our own Superstar Mohanlal, Bollywood actor Anupam Kher, yesteryear Bollywood heroine Jayaprada in the lead roles and others like Anoop Menon, Dhanya Mary Varghese etc in the supporting roles also. This new movie Pranayam was produced by Sajeev PK under the banner of Fragrant Nature and was distributed all across Kerala by Mohanlal's own distribution company, MaxLaab Entertainments.

Frankly speaking, this new Malayalam movie Pranayam doesn't have any serious plot in it to deal with, but with a simple and predictable storyline, this new film mainly concentrates on the feelings and emotions of three aged people. The main highlight of this movie happens to be it's three lead artists in the form of Mohanlal, Anupam Kher and Jayaprada, who have excelled in each and every part of this film.

In the technical side, director Blessy, who is also the script writer for this film have once again come up with an emotionally touching story and have succeeded in presenting it in the right manner. From the music department, the duo of M Jayachandran - ONV Kurup have delivered whatever was required from them and also the BGM score by M Jayachandran is well suited with the feel of this movie. Other fields, that requires special mention here happens to be the cinematography done by Satheesh Kurup and art direction by Prasanth Madhav.

In the acting side, one can expect a magical feel when three of the top acting legends from the nation unites in for a single movie. Anupam Kher as Achutha Menon and Jayaprada as Grace were really terrific to watch, but the stealer of the show happens to be our Mohanlal, who potrayed a character of retired Philosophy professor, Mathews, who is on a wheel chair, after a stroke that left him partly paralyzed. This film proves why he is regarded as one of the most talented actor India has ever produced. The real surprise factor was Anoop Menon, who was able to make a screen space for himself, even though some of India's real acting giants were present alongside him. Rest of the cast also contributed in their own way to this movie.

All in all, this new Malayalam movie Pranayam is not at all a sheer class film but is surely an honest attempt to make such a movie. This film is a sure treat for those genuine film lovers, who have been waiting for long for such a film in Malayalam. You are highly recommended to watch this movie for it's emotionally touching way of making and for some stunning acting performances from the lead actors.

Review: Malayalam Movie China Town

 Three men who are desperately trying to make you laugh, an age old good-versus-evil story, the usual confusions -romance-comedy mix… Director duo Rafi-Mecartin’s China Town is all about this. The attempt is to make the viewers laugh all the time and in all fairness, there are some hilarious moments in the first half, but things get shaky from then on.

The story begins in 1986, when a dreaded don Gowda (Pradeep Rawat) brutally murders three of the four partners of a casino at China Town in Goa. Years later, Gomez (Captain Raju), who had survived the tragedy, tries to find the sons of his murdered friends to hand over his highflying casino.

Of the three, Mathukkutty (Mohanlal) is a local goonda, Zachariah (Jayaram) is in dire straits after the failure of his business and Binoy (Dileep) has gone through several heartbreaks in his love life. There are more characters like the home minister (Bharat Dabholkar), a comic don (Suraj Venjarammoodu) and of course the heroines played Kavya Madhavan, Poonam Bajwa and Dipasha.

Though there is nothing so great about the storyline, the three heroes make the initial sequences genuinely funny. Mohanlal’s brawls with a few baddies and Dileep’s antics are really nice, but some of the comedy sequences have been lifted directly from certain yesteryear films in Malayalam and the dialogues, even from SMS-jokes!

The twist in the tale, which takes the story ahead in the second half, has heavily been inspired from the 2009 Hollywood blockbuster The Hangover. The script loses its grip with mix ups, drunken scenes and chaos follow making it hard for the viewer to figure out what’s happening on screen.

There are glimpses of the brilliance that they have always been known for, but still Rafi-Mecartin miss the mark to a great extent in this one. Azhagappan’s camera is really good and Jassie Gift’s tunes are quite nice.
Mohanlal looks good and has put his heart and soul into the character, which is perhaps the strength of the film as well. Dileep and Jayaram support him quite well, but the former’s beard and the latter’s wig look totally out of place. The heroines have nothing much to do, other than to look pretty and behave dumb.

Bollywood actors Pradeep Rawat (who played the villain in Ghajini) and Bharat Dabholkar do what most north-Indian baddies have been doing in Malayalam films, say the dialogues in various languages and get bashed up by the hero. Suraj Venjarammoodu repeats his trademark style once again, in a predictable way.
China Town works fine, if you leave your brains back home. It belongs to the ‘don’t think too much about what is happening’ kind, which defies logic but leaves you in splits at times. Now the choice is yours!

Malayalam movie Christian Brothers Review, Initial Reports

The wait is over..

Finally, the much awaited high budget multistarer Malayalam film, Christian Brothers got released today. Christian Brothers that features Universal star Mohanlal, Dileep, Suresh Gopi, Tamil actor Sarath Kumar, Kavya Madhavan, Kaniha, Lakshmi Rai, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy etc in the lead was expected to be the first Malayalam movie to have a worldwide release, but due to some technical issues it didn't happened and now this new film will release on abroad only by this 25th.

This new Malayalam movie, Christian Brothers, directed by veteran Joshiy and produced in combine by Maha Subair of Varnachitra Big screen and A V Anoop of AVA productions features the script written by the most successful script writers in Malayalam, Sibi K Thomas and Uday Krishnan. As per the initial reports, this new Malayalam movie have lived upto the expectation of the viewers and ensures everything in it to become a big hit.

Frankly speaking, this new movie Christian Brothers can be mentioned as yet another 20-20 without Mammootty in it. The writers were able to come up with a descent story (though it's not a fresh one) and have worked on it to make it into a well made script. Director Joshiy have proved once again why he is honoured so much in this Malayalam film industry. Other highlight of this film happens to be the cinematography by Anil Nair and the music by Deepak Dev.

On the acting side, all the 4 heroes have got enough to perform and similarly it also featured 4 heroines as well but sadly, none of them had nothing much to do. Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi were awesome to watch. Dileep with a relatively shorter role has also performed well. Sarath Kumar with just only an extended cameo appearance have made his impact hugely in this film. Lakshmi Rai and Lakshmi Gopalaswamy were seen only just for a couple of songs and scenes. Kavya Madhavan and Kaniha are there, but nothing to perform at all.

Sai Kumar, as the father of these christian brothers was a real treat to watch. Also, Jagathy Sreekumar with his uncle character, though it's a short one, was able to make his role a nice memorable one. Rest of the cast, as usual had nothing to perform, but just to help the heroes on the process. Suraj Venjaramoodu was also included in this movie for creating some comedy sequences but was no way near his best, and even found it to be irritating sometimes.

All in all, this much awaited high budget multistarer Malayalam film, Christian Brothers is a film that carries a festive mood in it, which will suit the season very much. I prefer you to watch this movie, since it can be stated as a mass masala entertainer at it's best..

Latest Mohanlal movie Shikkar review

Sure, this film is a dashing comeback from our Universal star Mohanlal after a string of flops. Shikkar is the latest film that released today with our lalettan in the lead role. The film released in exactly 101 theaters out of which 82 centers are in Kerala.

As expected, this film started of with the typical lalettan collections all across the state and had proven that no one can match up with the immense popularity of our lalettan among the Kerala audience. The film is carrying a very good first day report and is sure to become the much awaited blockbuster for Mohanlal.

This new film Shikkar is a pure family film with well mixed action sequences in it. The major plus point of this film is that it is a well packed movie, with all the essential ingredients mixed in the right proportion. This film is all about revenge and family relationships.

M Padmakumar, who is known to be a good director but with less box office hits had shown everyone that his real talent in this field is yet to be revealed and same is the case with the script writer S Suresh Babu. They both had come up with a marvelous film which was well supported by the entire cast and crew of this film, especially Mohanlal.

In the acting side, simply Mohanlal is awesome and is a real treat to watch. He single handedly carries this film forward. Even though, his role is a short one, Samudrakani's performance in the film should be mentioned. He will be a surprising factor for the viewers of this film and had done his short role superbly. Ananya, as Mohanlal's daughter, had also come up with a superb performance, especially in the stunning climax sequences.

Sneha, as Mohanlal's wife, had nothing much to perform but she did justice to her short role with a descent performance. All the others, especially Kailash, Lalu Alex, Kalabhavan Mani, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy and Thalaivasal Vijay had performed well. Even though, Jagathy and Suraj had done well, their respective characters in this film had let them down.

In the technical side, the most impressive work in this film was by the cinematographer Manoj Pillah, who had done a splendid work. The visuals in this film are really mind blowing, especially those visuals of Guna caves in the climax. The music department, including the background score was also good and has kept it's mark.

In simple words, this new Mohanlal starer, Shikkar is a visual treat, which can be undoubtedly enjoyed by all sort of viewers. So, go and enjoy this film with your family in the near by theaters..

Shikkar, one of the most expected malayalam movie of 2010 released today in 101 theatres. As per the intial reports the movie kept its expections and it is simply an awesome movie. Good reports are coming from all part of the kerala and it will be a strong comeback of God's Own Superstar Mohanlal with his extraordinary performance.

Shikkar is family action thriller which comprises good story, action, super suspense and stunning climax. M Padmakumar's Shikkar features the Superstar Mohanlal, Ananya, Samudrakani and Sneha in main roles. Once again Mohanlal comes with a strong and different character and shows his range of acting. Shikkar is all about the story of a wounded father hunted by someone and it is about the struggle of a Man to Live and it is all about the Hunter and the Wounded ..

As told earlier, the movie is a suspense family thriller with super climax. While coming to the performances Mohanlal is once again superb with powerpacked performance and also Samudrkani and Ananya has done brillinatly there roles. Other supporting casts also did justice to their roles. Mohanlal looks more energetic and after a long gap we are seeing such performance from him espescially in the climax scene.

Other positives of the movie are stunning climax, nice songs, Locations, background score, nice picturization. M Padmakumar directed the movie brilliantly and shikkar will be the best film in his career as director. Once again Manoj Pillai did his works superbly as the cinematographer. The only negative of the movie is the some over comedy done by Suraj Venjaranmoodu.

The first half of the movie is good and the second half is extra ordinary. The movie will be a sure visual treat to all. So don't miss it..

As per the expectation, the movie started with super visuals which includes nice comedies from Lal-Sreeni team. This film will tell the story of an ordinary citizen who is forced to run after files paying bribes and offering presents to every officers on the way, to help him to realize his dream of building a house of his own. Mohanlal plays the role of an ordinary man whereas Sreenivasan appears in it as the Town planning officer. The first half of the movie is really super with super combination scenes and some expressions from Mohanlal. The second half is also good and there are 2 main twists in the movie. The main negative feedback about the movie coming is all about the climax. The climax is very fast and all the problems of Mohanlal got solved in just less than 5 minutes.

While coming to the performance, Mohanlal and Sreenivasan comes with their unmatchable performances and all others including Sameera, Devayani, Nedumudi Venu, Suraj etc did justice to their roles. As a heroine, Sameera has nothing to do in it and she had not more than 30 minute role. Another thing i want to point out that the Sreenivasan can make the movie better by changing the script in the second half. Anyway the movie got a good theme and no boring in watching the movie.

Review : Oru Naal Varum

'Oru Naal Varum' the much awaited film from our Universal star Mohanlal has released today in around 70 centers, all across Kerala. This film, which is being directed by T K Rajeev Kumar was produced by the actor turned producer Manianpillah Raju. This film which was completed much before was not able to get released due to various reasons.

The main thing related with this Mohanlal-Sreenivasan starrer is that it is a gud family entertainer with almost all the needed ingredients for a family hit. This film excelled in almost all parts and is expected to get the much anticipated hit for our Mohanlal. It should be noted that this film is having some drawbacks of it's own also.

This film is all about the story of an ordinary citizen who is forced to run after files paying bribes and offering presents to every officers on the way, to help him to realize his dream of building a house of his own. The film starts with this theme and later proceeds with some unexpected twists and turns in it.

In the acting side, as usual Mohanlal is the highlight of this film with his ease and simple performance of the character. He also surprised the viewers with his trademark expressions that everyone thought he had lost somewhere in his path to stardom. Sreenivasan, who is in an equally important role, was able to stand upto the challenge put forward by the lead actor, Mohanlal.

The major let down was that Bollywood beauty Sameera Reddy, who was expected to perform much in this film was offered a nothing to perform character. Also the performance by the other lead lady Devayani was not that great. Others in the cast, including Suraj, Nedumudi Venu and others have made their roles into perfection.

In the technical side, this film is not an extraordinary brilliant one, but an usual film with a very common technical perfection in it. Sreenivasan had done a descent job with the script, though it is nowhere near his previous best films. The music department of this film is just simply ok and the background score was really superb. The major letdown comes in the department of direction and the editing, which according to me should have improved a lot.

All in all, this new film 'Oru Naal Varum' has opened in a tremendous manner all across the state and as per the first day reports, it is going to be the first major hit for our Mohanlal in 2010. According to me, this film is a worth watch for almost all type of Malayalam cinegoers..

Review: Janakan - New Malayalam Movie

Janakan , the latest malayalam movie which got released today in theatres all over kerala. The movie Janakan has been in the news for over a long period of time is one of the much awaited Mohanlal movie. Janakan is the first 2010 release of God's Own Superstar Mohanlal. Here is the initial reports and review of the movie Janakan.

First of all, I want to say you that Mohanlal, our lalettan is not as a guest in the movie. He got an equally important role as that of Suresh Gopi. The movie is directed by debutant NR Sanjeev. S.N Swamy is behind the script and the movie is distributed by Max Lab Entertainments. The movie got a good theme which is similar to that of yesteryear Vairam.


The movie features Mohanlal and Suresh Gopi with equally important roles and they had done their role perfectly with ease. Almost all other casts including Biju Menon, Harishree Ashokan, Jyotirmayi and other did justice to their roles. Suresh Gopi plays a villager Viswanathan, a family man married to Nirmala played by Kaveri and is the father of a college going girl played by newcomer Priya. His best friends in the film are played by Biju Menon and Harisri Asokan.

The plot of the movie is that Priya, Suresh Gopi's daughter who is raped and killed. It's then Viswanathan that gets a hint about who rapes and kills his daughter. Due to the circumstances Suresh Gopi and his friends get involved in a murder, and they are on the run. Mohanlal is coming as an advocate to save them from the case. Jyothirmayi plays the role of Dr. Rani who treats Priya.

The major highlights of the movie are Mohanlal-Suresh Gopi combo scenes, Good theme, gud song, and the Script. This will be one of the better scripts from S.N Swmy in recent times. The negatives of the movie is the Story and the Camera work. The movie got the same old story of that of Vairam. When the full movie is considered, the movie will be a good one and is a sure hit.

Ividam Swargamanu Movie Review, Initial Reports

Today, Ividam Swargamanu - Universal Star Mohanlal's Xmas malayalam release from Roshan Andrews got released in around 75 theatres. The movie is the second venture from Mohanlal-Roshan Andrews team and this movie also shows that this pair is a magical one in creating magic in the mollywood. Don't know what to say about the movie and Mohanlal's performance. In single words the latest malayalam movie Ividam Swargamanu is a normal family entertainer which comprises story, action, comedy, some suspense and also a lot of sentis.

Roshan Andrew's Ividam Swargamanu features Mohanlal as Mathews a simple common man who is farmer. The movie also features Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Lakshmi Rai and Priyanka Nair as heroines. Thilakan plays Jeremias, his father and Mathews tries to realize his father's dream of setting up a huge farmhouse with cattle, vegetables and the like, on the banks of the river Periyar. After Bhramaram, Mohanlal comes with a strong and different character.

While coming to the performance part, Mohanlal our lalettan is marvellous and once again he proved he is the one best for these type natural characters through his natural acting. Through this role Mohanlal once again proved that no one can replace him in indian film industry. Thilakan, Kaviyoor Ponnama also has don their roles perfectly. Lalu Alex is the main Villian in the movie and he made his character above expectations and i support him after lalettan in the movie. This movie also shows the mohanlal- shankar team and shankar also did his job wonderfully as a supporting character.

Other than the main cast, all others in the supporting cast of Ividam Swargamanu like Sukumari, Sreenivasan, Jagathy, Innocent etc. did justice to the roles assigned to them. Other positive things are Direction, situation comedies, nice picturization and the super climax. As per the first reports the movie is getting good response just like 'Bhramaram' and will be a must watchable movie. Also the movie will be the another megahit of Mohanlal in 2009.

Last day Angel John , the latest malayalam movie released in kerala over 75 theatres. Angel John is the debut Malayalam movie of Santhanoo Bhagyaraj which also features Superstar Mohanlal in the Title role. Initial reports shows that the movie is somewhat success in keeping the expectation. The movie is directed by Jayasurya and the movie is a treat for the family audiences. Angel John is not only a breezy entertainer but is packaged well with sentiments, comedy, and action but also has a neat message. Maradona (Santhanoo) is an aimless youngster who likes to waste his time doing practically nothing other than fooling around. For him everything in life is Oru Rasam (just fun) and wants to take the easy way out and lacks focus in his life. He is the only son of Joseph (Lalu Alex) an Bank Manager and Mary (Ambika) who dotes on him. The only person who has a soft corner for him is the beautiful Sofia (Nithya) who has a limp and is the daughter of a failed filmmaker Kuruvila (Vijayaraghavan).

Maradona messes up his life by getting into company of friends and starting an internet café that fails and to recoup his losses and attracted by ‘easy money’ he gets into drugs. Soon he is conned and loses everything after pledging his house to a ‘blade’ moneylender (Salim Kumar). On hearing the news his father is hospitalized and his mother finally loses faith in him.A shattered Maradonna decides to commit suicide by jumping from a lighthouse into the sea. As he is about to jump, he is held back by a divine force in the form of Angel John (Mohanlal), who offers him a new lease of life.

The film works because of Jayasurya’s script. More importantly the director plays up the message part of the film by highlighting the importance of hard work, dedication, ethics and sacrifice. Even Jagathy’s Khader Moosa comedy track has a message. Mohanlal as Angel John is top class as he blends his image perfectly with the character, while Santhanoo comes out with fine performance.

The supporting cast of Vijayaraghavan, Lalu Alex and new girl Nithya are all adequate. Though there are only two songs in the film, Ouseppachan’s background score is a winner. Towards the end, the script plods as it becomes predictable and sentimental. But you don’t mind it simply because the characters have handled the scenes skilfully.

So the movie is watchable once and a family entertainer...

Mohanlal - Kamal Haasan's UnnaiPol Oruvan Movie Review

Mohanlal- Kamal Haasan team's UnnaiPol Oruvan released worldwide on last friday. UnnaiPol Oruvan is the tamil remake of the Bollywood movie "A Wednesday". This is the first time both the actors are coming together. That was the main attraction of the movie. This is a great feeling to see both the actors - most flexible actors of Indian Cinema sharing the screen.

Kamal Haasan is handling the role of Nazerudin Shah while Mohanlal plays the charcter done by Anupem Kher in the hindi version. Mohanlal is coming in the role of IG RagavanMarar. The movie tells the a new story of Terror. According to me the Movie UnnaiPol Oruvan is the perfect movie among all the perfect movies. While coming to the direction part, the movie got a good direction and a hollywood touch. Basically there was no differece in the script from that of the bollywood version. Shruti Haasan also done a great job in handling the Music of the movie especially the title music.

Mohanlal and Kamal Haasan has done extremely and I prefer all to see the movie in theatres else you may miss a good movie. Kamal Haasan, once again, has excelled with his performance, whereas Mohanlal steals the spotlights with a tremendous show. His conversations with journalist and entire department are so catchy, especially where he meets the computer hacker. But according to me Mohanlal has done a better job than Kamal Haasan.

The movie UnnaiPol Oruvan is now getting good response and collections from all over the world. The movie is a must watch one and all would see the movie in the theatres itself.

Review : Bhramaram

Mohanlal- Blessy team's latest malayalam movie Bhramaram made a good opening. The movie which was released around 80 centres in the state, feature Mohanlal, Bhoomika, Suresh Menon, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy in main cast. Bhramram, the fifth one from Blessy contaions a simple story , but have emotions, fabulous frames, action, suspense and almost all ingrediants of ones life. The initial reports shows that the movie is getting a good responses and will be asure superhit.

The story starts when Sivankutty (Mohanlal) reaches the apartment of his schoolmate, Unni (Suresh Menon). The movie is built around Jose alias Shivan Kutty, who is roaming around in an auto around Coimbatore to locate an address, on the same day the city is shell shocked with multiple blasts. This man of mystery finally arrive at the apartment of his schoolmate Unni, now a busy, successful share broker who is having a happy life with his wife Latha and kids. The intruder remains in the flat for a couple of days making merry with the kids, but within days Unni and his closest friend Alex, are made to realise that the man in their flat have come with an agenda, an after math of an incident that happened long back in their lives.

The first half is a little bit slow one and the second half is a real splendour with one of the best performances from the versatile star in Lal. He, with the help of fabulous frames and interesting dialogues, propel the movie toward the climax, which is a real stunner. The actor is used to such a perfect effect that one can really feel his pain, experiences his struggle and realise that there can be more than one such men out there in the world today. Suresh Menon, playing Unni, deliver a candid natural performance without pushing for histrionics, and works the understated character perfectly. Lakshmi Gopalaswamy and Murali Krishnan also does their roles with elaan.

The film has its moments for sure, but things could definitely have been more effective with a taut script. Though Mohanlal puts in his heart and soul to get into the shoes of his character, the supporting cast lets him down big time. What makes the film click is its stunning climax. Bhoomika, as Mohanlal's wife, and the child actor who play their child fail to make any impact. Muralikrishnan, who plays Alex, has nice features to suit his role and he does a nice job as well.

All the other casts did extremely supported Mohanlal and did justice to the characters. Other good things about the movie are good direction, camera work is excellent, hearty songs, gud picturisations and mohan sitaras excellent music. Bhramaram is a must watch movie else you will miss the strong performance of the complete actor Mohanlal. Once again he proved he is the best in malayalam through this character.

Malayalam Movie Bhramaram Review , first reports

Today, Bhramaram the most expected malayalam movie of 2009 from blessy released in around 80 theatres. Bhramaram the fifth venture from Blessy again proved that he is a master in story telling. In single words the latest malayalam movie bhramaram is a normal family movie which comprises story, action, some suspense and also a lot of sentis.

Blessy's Bhramaram features the superstar Mohanlal and Bhumika in central roles. Mohanlal comes with a strong and different character after a long time. As said it is the first road movie in the malayalam and the story is telling through a journey from coimbatore to kerala. Mohanlal coming as a farmer and small time jeep driver who operates at the highranges of Kerala.

As told earlier, the movie is not a suspense thriller, but the movie provide some thrills. The main noticable thing in the movie is the role played by Mohanlal. Mohanlal has done a high class performance in the movie which can't be done by any other actor. Through this role Mohanlal once again proved that noone can replace him in indian film industry. He looks more energetic and after a long gap we are seeing such performance from him. Bhumika is just simply ok and KPSC Lalitha who is doing the role of mohanlal's mother is simply amazing even if she appears in the movie for a small time.

Other than the main cast, all others in the supporting cast like Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Suresh Menon, Jayalakshmi, Madan Babu, Baby Niveditha and V.G. Murali Krishnan did justice to the roles assigned to them. Other positive things are Super songs, good music & background score, nice picturization. As per the first reports the movie is getting good response just like 'Thanmathra' and will be a must watchable movie. Also the movie will be the first sure superhit of Mohanlal in 2009.

Bhagavan, the latest mohanlal film which is shot in a short 17 hours released today. Bhagavan is a below average movie and has nothing in it. The only positive things in the movie are the theme and the presence of Mohanlal . Bhagavan is a movie which conveys a message against terrorism. As different from the news there is no cammando operations in the movie.

The negatives of the movie are poor directon, unwanted songs , weak dialogues and some repeated scenes. With his first movie ,Prashant Mampully showed that he has to improve a lot. Another problem of the movie is the some unwanted casts in the movie. I prefer you not to watch the movie.

Saagar Alias Jackie Review

Superstar Mohanlal's latest offering Saagar Alias Jackie - Reloaded has reached about 102 theatres today. This new film from Mohanlal is considered to be the most stylish film ever made in the Malayalam film industry. This new film which is a highly hyped stylish action thriller was directed by young director Amal Neerad and produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirwad Cinemas.

Saagar Alias Jackie - Reloaded was said to be a stylish film and it was correct but the major concern with the film is that there is not a basic story to deal with. Script writer S N Swamy, who is well known for his story based action films have let us down with a storyless film. Director of this film, Amal Neerad too have let us down by not making the film upto the expectations. The director has rehashed certain scenes, locations and characters from his earlier BigB.

This new film is all about a soft hearted gangster named as Saagar Alias Jackie, which is a very popular name with the hit film Irupatham Noottandu, a film which was directed by K Madhu and scripted by S N Swamy. While watching this film it felt that Swamy has remade his earlier film Irupatham Noottandu, which was a far better entertainer.

In the acting side, Mohanlal the most flexible actor in Indian cinema, as usual is a treat to watch but the rest of the cast was not upto the mark. Bhavana, heroine of the movie is wasted with not such a notable role whereas Shobhana was perfect with her role. Manoj K Jayan was ok and out of the villians (too much) Sambath and Suman were watchable whereas others were wasted with nothing really to do. Jagathy Sreekumar is wasted while Jyothirmayi's item dance was not upto to the mark to make the audience crazy.

In the technical side, Amal Neerad has employed the regular technique used by Ram Gopal Varma, Vishnu Vardhan and others to make their film look stylish. All his crew members have done their jobs quite decently. The music department was not upto the mark whereas the camera work done by the director himself is superb.

All in all, this new film Saagar Alias Jackie - Reloaded is the perfect example of the new style of film making. The film is definitely a watchable one with it's stylish way of making and for the locations and look it provides. With a bumber opening like this, this new film from Mohanlal is surely expected to become a notable hit in this year's calendar.

Red Chillies Review

Once again Mohanlal proved that he is the most flexible actor in the malayalam film industry and Shaji Kailas the most stylish director with the new film Red Chillies.The movie is overdosed with technology,be it in cinematography editing or in background score.The appearance of the mohanlal in the film is very superb.

The biggest highlight of the movie is of course the Don OMR(Oiyarathu Madathil Ramanathan) played by Mohanlal,And as usual Mohanlal delivers a brilliant performance.The dialogues are excellent.He is handsome and stylish. Take Mohanlal away from the movie. OMR is everything a first day first show Mohanlal fan needs from there icon.

There are some numerous flaws in the movie. The girls (Red Chiliies) has done a bad job in the movie.They dont do anything except add a bit glamor to the plotActors like Siddique,Thilakan etc are cast only to boost the hero image of Lal. Was happy to see Lal and Thilakan together but they don't share scene.When people get out of theatre they won't even remember the face of any of these jockeys, or can aptly be called jokers. Parts done in Singapore and major resorts are good.Also the way in which the suspense revealed is also bad.

The movie is sure to be a hit coz there is everything a Lal fan wants. When comparing with Mamooties latest flick "Love in Singapore" it is an excellent movie.Any way the Movie Red Chillies Should be a Super Hit.I am giving Red Chillies 4/5.Lets wait for the next movie Sagar Alias Jacky reloaded.
