Universal star Mohanlal's own production company Pranavam Arts, is now all set to get relaunched by the star himself. Some of the best movies ever made in Malayalam like- His Highness Abdullah, Bharatham, Kamaladalam, Vanaprastham, were made under this banner.
Pranavam Arts was temperorily shelved by Mohanlal after making the film Vanaprastham and then onwards Mohanlal went on with acting in films produced by his man friday Antony Perumbavoor's production company, Aashirwad Cinemas.
The first film to be produced by this banner, after it's relaunch will be Mohanlal's this years Ramzan release, Kandhahar. This high budget film, to be directed by Major Ravi, who had earlier made Keerthichakra and Kurukshetra with Mohanlal will also feature Amitabh Bachchan in a meaty role. It was earlier reported that Tamil star Surya too will act in this film, but now Surya had backed from this project due to lack of dates.
Pranavam Arts and a Mumbai based corporate will jointly produce Major Ravi directed Kandahar. Suresh Balaji, brother-in-law of Mohanlal will look after the production. Suresh has been doing outsourcing works for Mumbai producers making Tamil films and is a professional production man.
