Mohanlal’s Red Chillies took a very good opening, but could not sustain after the first week. However it is OK, for its producers Rajaputra Renjith and distributor Vysakha Rajan. They may recover their investment and get a distributors share of around Rs 3.5 crore in the long run. For Mohanlal it keeps him afloat, and Shaji Kailas gets one more chance to do another larger than life character.
The film is to be considered as an above average film.
