New Malayalam movie 'Grandmaster', directed by B Unnikrishnan will have Superstar Mohanlal and Priyamani in the lead roles. This new film, scripted by the director himself, is being produced by Ronnie Screwvala, under the banner of UTV Motion Pictures.

This new film 'Grandmaster' will bring back the hit combo of director B Unnikrishnan and actor Mohanlal, after the Megahit 'Maadambi'. Apart from Mohanlal and Priyamani, this film also features Anoop Menon, Narain, Roma, Babu Antony, Mitra Kurian, Siddique, Sai Kumar, Sampath, Jagathy Sreekumar etc in its cast.

In 'Grandmaster', a racy crime thriller, Mohanlal will play a Police Officer with different mannerisms. He, who is also a divorcee, lives alone in a dark and violent city. Even when unlawful incidents take place around him, he withdraws himself from all responsibilities and is happy to live quietly. But he is forced to change and take up his duties and responsibilities. But only once, just once, he makes a fatal mistake, for which his whole life gets drastically altered. Priyamani is acting in as Mohanlal's ex-wife, who is also a lawyer.

It should be noted that this new film 'Grandmaster' is UTV's first ever production venture in Malayalam. The other major highlight happens to be that this film will also mark the coming together of National award winning artists Mohanlal and Priyamani for the very first time. This film 'Grandmaster' is rumored to be inspired from the Liam Neeson's thriller movie 'Taken'.

Music for this new film 'Grandmaster' was composed by Deepak Dev and the lyrics were penned in combine by Santhosh Varma & Chittoor Gopi. Cinematography for this film was done by Vijay Ulakanath.

This upcoming Malayalam movie 'Grandmaster' is all set to release by this April 27th, 2012.
